Students’ Ted talk Style Project – Il Progetto (modello TEDex) degli studenti

An empowering and inspiring project completely realized by the students, with the supervision of their English Conversation teacher Edinamara Rufino. In this educational project, aimed at improving students’ knowledge retention, encouraging autonomous and collaborative learning, and learning useful life skills, students were encouraged to investigating a topic that is dear to themselves, creating a short video and present issues with different levels of complexity such as: teenage life and interests, the environment, the psychology of colours and love, to name a few.

The project was first initiated in class before the lockdown and completed online (distance learning platforms and Google Meet). Students brainstormed several topics, identified, and discussed the ones that matters most to them and submitted project proposals for approval (political correctness was an important component of this project).  Subsequently, with the guidance of their teacher and active peer feedback exercises, they put together their own projects and presented online. The videos have been uploaded  to our Google Classroom  (the original idea was to have presentations in the school auditorium,  but it was not possible, due to the Covid-19 outbreak) and can be shared with students’ families, friends and the community.
